The E-Commcerce project is due Monday, Feb. 23. Make sure that you use the extra time to beef up your research. I want to see some evidence that you've explored both the library and all things .gov on the Web. Here's a short example of some materials that are helpful: http://www.sba.gov/classroom/eCommerceGuide_1.html

The Calendar has been updated. Please go have a look at it.

Also, we'll have a look at this report-like document on white space and this other bit on design that I wrote over the weekend.

Some typography and design links we'll want to look at in class:

--From the Xerox corporation, a nice bit about type with illustrations.
--From dtp-aus.com, another glossary (unillustrated, alas) of font and design terminology + other things design worth exploring.

Welcome to the Course Website for ENGL420.07.04. You'll want to familiarize yourself with the layout and functions of the site for Wednesday's class (though we will be going through some of this today.)

One of the things I want you to do today is email me your @purdue.edu email address. It is imperative that you have access to that account, either directly or via the forwarding function (I'll show you how to set that up), as there will be important messages that will appear there (mostly emergency stuff). All other messages will be found here, on the Course News page, and any special files will appear here and on the Course Calendar, too.

Once I have your @purdue.edu email address, I will add you to our Course Blog, which you will read here on the site and contribute to via Blogger.com. Once you receive your invitation from Blogger, follow these simple steps to set up an account (if you don't already have one), and be sure to review our class Blog rules. I want you to post an introduction to yourself on the Blog before Wednesday, and to read everyone else's post. Get in the habit of this--Blogging involves both writing AND reading.

We'll talk more about this in class. For now, welcome to the course.
